ALGC Receives Commendation from State of Ohio Celebrating 95th Anniversary
Ohio House of Representative Joe Miller attended the ALGC’s April General Meeting to present the Club a Commendation in celebration of ALGC’s 95th Anniversary that happened in March. The Avon-on-the-Lake Garden Club collection includes scrapbooks, minutes, historian’s reports, and other special items from meetings, events, and activities of the Avon-on-the-Lake Garden Club of Avon Lake (Lorain County), OH.
The Garden Club began in Avon Lake in 1930 and is still active.
Congratulations to Elsie Robertson on her 100th Birthday!
Elsie is a long-time member of the Garden Club, a past president, and a huge contributor to gardening efforts in Avon Lake. She recently received a proclamation from the City of Avon Lake. We wish you a Happy Birthday, dear Elsie. Thank you for all of your contributions to the ALGC and the City of Avon Lake.

• ALGC Donates to Community Resource Services (CRS) December 2021
Once again, ALGC once again celebrated the holiday season by making donations to CRS which hopefully will make the holidays a little merrier for others in the community. Last year, holiday donations -including cash and gift cards- totaled more than $4000! It’s was a joy and an honor to be a part of such generosity! This year’s donation reached nearly $5000 and included baskets and bags of all kinds, including spa baskets, movie night treats, soup supper, and more. Members of the group that helped deliver the donations on December 10 are shown in the photo below.
